? How did you get into cooking?

I'VE ALWAYS BEEN AN AVID FOODIE AND LOVE COOKING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. FLORIAN DID HIS APPRENTICESHIP IN FRANCE AND WORKED IN SOME OF THE TOP RESTAURANTS IN LONDON FOR MANY YEARS.

PRAWN BISQUE and SEARED SCALLOPS WITH WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO JUST TO NAME A FEW! FLORIAN THINKS HIS FRENCH BOEUF BOURGUIGNON IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD

? How did you get the idea and concept for a french afrikaans bistro?

MY FRENCH HUSBAND HAS BEEN IN THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND BEING A BIT OF A GLOBE TROTTER, LIKED THE IDEA OF OWNING A MOBILE KITCHEN. WE WANTED TO DO A VARIETY OF OUR FAVOURITE FOOD ITEMS AND NOT BE RESTRICTED TO JUST ONE TYPE OF FOOD HENCE THE CREATION OF A MOBILE "BISTRO"

? What kind of food do you sell?

STEAK ROLLS, FRESH SALADS AND WRAPS WITH BEEF STEAK AND CARAMELIZED ONIONS, COCONUT & LIME CHICKEN OR ROASTED VEGGIES WITH FETA AND TOASTED SEEDS. FOR OUR PRIVATE FUNCTIONS WE UP THE ANTE A BIT… PRAWN BISQUE, SLOW ROASTED BEEF BRISKET, MOROCCAN LAMB BURGERS AND SEARED TUNA STEAKS ARE JUST A FEW OF OUR SPECIALITY DISHES!

? What is a french afrikaans bistro? How does this play into the flavours incorporated into your food?

WE INCORPORATED MY HUSBAND (FLORIAN)'s FRENCH AND MY AFRIKAANS HERITAGE INTO OUR FOODS AND FLAVOURS. HIS COOKING IS ALL ABOUT THE “Je Ne Sais Quoi” WITH HIS SAUCES AND PERFECT CARAMELIZATION AND I'M ALL ABOUT OLD SCHOOL RUSTIC COOKING WITH FRESH FLAVOURS.
